XRP Rises 32% in August on ETF Flows, Whale Activity

XRP gained about 32% in August after recovering from below $1 as US spot XRP ETFs logged roughly $23.87 million of net inflows on Aug. 25 and large holders moved billions via Binance.

XRP recovered from below $1 and is on track for roughly a 32% gain in August. The token traded as high as $1.70 during last week’s surge and was near $1.40 at press time, down about 5% over 24 hours. Shorter-term moves put it about 40% higher over seven days and roughly 28% higher over 30 days.

US spot XRP exchange-traded funds recorded roughly $23.87 million in net inflows on Aug. 25, the largest single-day intake since May 11, extending a nine-session run of positive flows. The ETF products attracted more than $80 million of fresh capital in August and have about $1.59 billion in cumulative net subscriptions since launch, with net assets near $1.46 billion at the most recent close.

Dollar-denominated activity on the XRP Ledger increased as Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin surpassed $2 billion in circulating supply. About $963 million of RLUSD was on the XRP Ledger and roughly $1.05 billion on Ethereum as of Aug. 25. Monthly RLUSD transfer volume across the two chains reached about $11.8 billion.

A ledger analysis found RLUSD outstanding on the XRP Ledger rose about 39% since May 20 to roughly $934 million, while total stablecoin supply across platforms contracted by about 6% from its May peak. Over the prior 30 days, roughly $450 million of RLUSD was issued on the XRP Ledger and a similar amount was redeemed; on Ethereum, around $403 million was issued and about $177 million redeemed.

On-chain analytics reported daily whale inflows to exchanges peaked near 460 million XRP during the rally, the highest single-session level since February. Inflows into Binance totaled about 1.451 billion XRP over 30 days, the largest four-week sum in four months. Large withdrawals from Binance spiked to about 231 million XRP by Aug. 21, the biggest outflow in roughly six months and valued at more than $330 million at recent prices.

The rebound in August coincided with renewed ETF demand, expanded RLUSD activity on the XRP Ledger and active transfers by large holders. Market participants will monitor whether ETF subscriptions continue, whether RLUSD turnover sustains, and whether whale transfers resolve into net accumulation or distribution.
