XRP ETFs hold $1.7B after $3.9M in weekly inflows

Five U.S. spot XRP ETFs held about $1.7 billion at the Oct. 6 close after taking in roughly $3.9 million over the previous week. Franklin and Canary had outflows on Oct. 6.

Five tracked U.S. spot XRP ETFs held an estimated $1.7 billion at the Oct. 6 close, according to Maketo data. The funds recorded about $3.9 million in combined net inflows over the previous week and roughly $112 million over the previous month.

The funds held about 1.13 billion XRP. The holdings figure reflects accumulated exposure, while flow figures measure recent purchases and redemptions.

On Oct. 6, Bitwise recorded about $11 million in inflows. Franklin had roughly $4.1 million in outflows, and Canary recorded about $3.3 million in outflows. Grayscale and 21Shares were approximately flat. The five funds recorded about $3.14 million in combined net inflows that day.

Canary’s shares outstanding fell from about 23.35 million on Oct. 5 to 23.14 million on Oct. 6. The decline is consistent with redemptions, although the data do not identify the investors or show where the underlying XRP moved. Investors can trade ETF shares with one another, while authorized participants handle fund creations and redemptions.

XRP Insights counted 21.98 billion XRP in 699 publicly attributed wallets across 24 exchanges at 08:00 UTC on Oct. 7. The total includes cold-storage wallets and some reserves linked to wrapped tokens, making it broader than the amount immediately available for trading.

The same wallets held 26.5 million fewer XRP than seven days earlier, a decline of 0.13%. Binance-attributed balances fell by about 33 million XRP, while Upbit-attributed balances rose by roughly 11.5 million XRP.

Tracked balances fell by 1.63 billion XRP over the previous month. XRP Insights attributed most of the decline to an Uphold storage migration into newer wallets outside its tracked group. Excluding Uphold, balances fell by about 75 million XRP, or 0.54%.

A decline in an exchange-attributed balance does not establish that customers withdrew XRP. Exchanges can transfer assets between their own wallets, and customers can trade within pooled exchange accounts without changing the exchange’s total ledger balance.

Ripple released 1 billion XRP from escrow on Oct. 1 and re-escrowed 700 million XRP. The remaining 300 million XRP left escrow. The data do not establish whether those tokens were sold.

XRP traded near $1.43 on Oct. 7, down about 5.46% over 24 hours. CoinGlass recorded about $3.97 billion in XRP futures turnover during that period, compared with $801.56 million in covered spot-market turnover. Open interest stood at about $3.35 billion.

Turnover measures trading activity and does not show whether futures sellers initiated the price decline or responded to falling prices. Open interest represents outstanding long and short positions and does not by itself show whether positions were liquidated or newly opened.
