Wintermute was named a nominee for Best Liquidity Provider at the BeInCrypto Institutional 100 Awards after reporting more than $15 billion in average daily trading volume across centralized and decentralized venues and supporting over 3,000 asset pairs.

The firm said it connects to more than 60 centralized and decentralized venues and offers institutional access via chat, API, exchange access and decentralized protocols. Wintermute’s business combines algorithmic trading on exchanges with an over-the-counter desk that supports block trades, same-day settlement and weekend coverage.

Wintermute’s OTC desk handles large executions for asset managers, tokenization issuers and trading firms that need to limit market impact. The firm reported that crypto options flow through the desk doubled in 2025 and that client flow in some cases shifted toward yield-driven strategies.

The company provides liquidity across native crypto assets, stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets, including tokenized gold and tokenized money market funds. Wintermute reported that tokenized gold volumes across its supported segments exceeded the combined volume of several major gold ETFs, and the firm has offered weekend oil exposure to allow trading when traditional venues are closed.

David Micley, Managing Director of Americas at Wintermute, described the firm’s approach as market neutral: “Wintermute is a market-neutral liquidity provider. Regardless of whether the market goes up or down, we want to make sure we are in a position to generate positive P&L, assume worst-case scenarios, and not just survive but thrive through all economic environments.”

The firm is registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority, a regulatory detail used by institutional counterparties when assessing execution partners. Wintermute’s infrastructure spans centralized exchanges, decentralized protocols and bilateral OTC execution, enabling routing of institutional flow across different settlement environments.

The BeInCrypto Institutional 100 Awards evaluate firms building infrastructure for institutional digital finance, including liquidity provisioning, settlement and execution tools. The nomination notes Wintermute’s reported scale, multi-venue connectivity and activity in tokenized assets as aspects relevant to institutional execution.
