Upbit lists PYUSD and JPYC on KRW, BTC and USDT markets
On Sept. 17, 2026 Upbit listed PayPal USD (PYUSD) and JPYC on KRW, BTC and USDT markets. Deposits and withdrawals are Ethereum-only. PYUSD trading began 12:00 KST; JPYC was delayed to 18:00 KST.
On Sept. 17, 2026 Upbit added PayPal USD (PYUSD) and JPY Coin (JPYC) to its KRW, BTC and USDT order books on its Korean platform. Deposits and withdrawals for both tokens are limited to the Ethereum network. Upbit opened deposit and withdrawal windows within about 90 minutes of the initial notice.
Trading support for PYUSD was scheduled to begin at 12:00 KST. JPYC’s start time was revised twice in the notice, first to 15:00 KST and then to 18:00 KST in an update posted at 14:50 KST.
The notice listed the ERC-20 contract address for PYUSD as 0x6c3ea9036406852006290770bedfcaba0e23a0e8 and for JPYC as 0xE7C3D8C9a439feDe00D2600032D5dB0Be71C3c29. The notice identified Paxos Trust as the issuer behind PYUSD, distributed via PayPal and Venmo at a 1:1 USD peg, and JPYC Inc. as the issuer of the yen-denominated electronic payment token pegged 1:1 to the yen.
Upbit displayed KRW reference prints around 09:40 KST near 1,367–1,376 KRW for PYUSD (about 0.9997 USDT) and 8.78–8.81 KRW for JPYC (about 0.0064 USDT). These reference prints are venue quotes and not issuer redemption prices.
The exchange applied short-term trading limits after listing to limit early volatility. Buy orders were restricted for roughly five minutes after market open, sell orders priced at or below 10% under the prior close were blocked for a similar short window, and the books accepted limit orders only for about two hours.
The notice warned operators to confirm the Ethereum network and the exact contract address before sending funds, noting that transfers sent to the wrong network cannot be recovered.
Upbit is operated by Dunamu. In August 2026 Dunamu and Visa announced a partnership to explore stablecoin payments and remittances. Separately, on Sept. 16 Upbit added USDC deposits and withdrawals on Circle’s Arc chain.
The listing gives Korean traders access to a dollar-pegged stablecoin and a yen-denominated electronic payment token on a KRW market alongside existing USDT pairs. Operators were advised to re-check the live Upbit notice and confirm on-chain contract information before depositing.
