TRON stablecoin settlements hit $2.2 trillion in Q3
TRON processed $2.2126 trillion in stablecoin settlements in Q3 2026, while TRX supply increased on each of the 108 days from July 1 through Oct. 16.
TRON processed $2.2126 trillion in stablecoin settlements during the third quarter of 2026, up 5.1% from the previous quarter, according to TRON DAO Research. The network’s average daily settlement volume rose 3.9%. Q3 had 92 days, compared with 91 days in Q2.
TRX supply increased on every day from July 1 through Oct. 16. Daily records for the third quarter show 360.2 million TRX issued and 234.5 million burned, resulting in a net increase of 125.8 million TRX.
From Oct. 1 through Oct. 16, TRON issued 62.7 million TRX and burned 39.8 million. The net increase was 22.9 million TRX. Together, the two periods added about 148.6 million TRX. The figures were retrieved on Oct. 17 and exclude that day because its records were incomplete.
The third-quarter net increase was about 0.133% of an opening supply of approximately 94.85 billion TRX. During the first 16 days of October, burns offset about 63.5% of new issuance. Average daily issuance was 3.916 million TRX, compared with 2.486 million in average daily burns.
TRON’s combined USDT and USDD balances reached $93.88 billion during Q3, up 5.5% from Q2. Stablecoin balances measure tokens held on the network, while settlement volume measures the value transferred. Neither figure directly determines TRX supply.
TRON uses TRX to provide access to transaction resources. Bandwidth covers data recorded on the blockchain, while Energy covers the computing used by smart-contract transactions. Users can obtain these resources by staking TRX or receiving delegated resources from another account. The staked tokens remain available for repeated use as resources recover over a rolling 24-hour period.
When available resources do not cover a transaction, TRON can burn TRX to pay the charge. For ordinary Bandwidth charges, the account’s available quota must cover the full transaction cost before TRX is burned. Energy can cover part of a smart-contract cost, with TRX burned for the remaining amount within the applicable fee limit.
TRON issues new TRX through rewards for block producers and voters. Its documented reward parameters provide 8 TRX per block for production and 128 TRX per block for voter rewards. Governance can change those amounts. Voters may receive a share after a representative deducts its brokerage fee, while holding unstaked TRX does not automatically provide the same reward claim.
To reach supply balance during Oct. 1–16 without changing issuance, burns would have needed to increase by 22.9 million TRX, or 57.5%, from the recorded total. With burns unchanged, issuance would have needed to fall by 22.9 million TRX, or 36.5%. Supply balance would mean issuance and burns were equal. Burns exceeding issuance would produce a deflationary period.
