Tron gasless USDT transfers reach $3B in 2026

A CryptoQuant report shows Tron’s gasless USDT transfers reached $3 billion in 2026, up from roughly $1.5 billion at the start of the year. Gas-free transfers on Tron rose from zero in early 2025 to record levels by mid-2025.

The report recorded about 30,000 unique users of Tron’s GasFree service and monthly transactions near 196,000. “GasFree transactions and active users reached record highs, confirming a structural uptrend,” the report added.

GasFree abstracts network fees by deducting a small charge from each stablecoin transfer instead of requiring users to hold Tron’s native token, TRX, to pay gas. The report gave a median fee example of roughly $1.50 on a $16,000 transfer and said those fees have remained relatively stable compared with spikes that can occur on gas-based transfers during high network demand.

The report identified payment integrators using Tron to support spendable USDT balances without TRX; Rhino.fi was cited as an example. It noted the fee-abstraction layer enables projects to onboard users who hold only USDT.

Other payment initiatives have removed or hidden gas-token requirements, including Stripe’s Tempo, Circle’s Arc and plans tied to a Google-backed chain. The report said it is unclear whether chains such as Solana and Polygon will adopt similar fee-abstraction models.

Visa data referenced in the report shows Tron’s share of global stablecoin transaction volume fell from about 43% in 2024 to roughly 20% by mid-2026.

The analysis traces gasless USDT transfers from nonexistence in early 2025 to significant activity by mid-2025 and further growth through 2026.
