Tron’s gasless USDT transfers hit $3B in 2026

Tron’s gasless USDT transfers reached $3 billion in 2026, up from about $1.5 billion in January. The GasFree service recorded 30,000 unique users and transaction counts peaked at 196,000.

The increase follows a rapid uptake that began in early 2025, when gasless transfers moved from near zero to a record level by mid-2025 and continued rising into 2026, according to an analytics report. The report added, ‘GasFree transactions and active users reached record highs, confirming a structural uptrend.’

GasFree removes the need for users to hold TRX to pay network fees. The system covers the cost by taking a small charge from each transfer, a model similar to how payment operators take a fraction of transactions.

The report cited a median fee of about $1.50 for a $16,000 transfer on Tron, and described fee levels as stable compared with spikes that can occur on chains during peak demand.

Removing the requirement to hold a chain’s gas token has been a focus for several payment projects that aim to simplify stablecoin transfers. Integrators such as Rhino.fi are using Tron’s rails to provide spendable USDT balances so merchants and users do not need to acquire TRX.

Payments data show Tron’s share of global stablecoin transaction volume fell from 43% in 2024 to 20% by mid-2026.

Other smart-contract platforms have not broadly adopted fee-abstracting systems. The available data link GasFree to higher gasless transfer volume and increased integration on Tron.
