TRON Adds $1B in Stablecoins, Far Ahead of Other Chains
TRON’s stablecoin market cap rose about $1 billion in the past week, over ten times the growth of any other chain; 49.35% of USDT supply is on TRON.
Data from Token Terminal shows the TRON network added about $1 billion in stablecoin market cap over the past seven days, more than ten times the increase recorded by any other chain.
BNB Chain added roughly $85 million, Aptos added $82 million and Avalanche added $73 million during the same period. Stellar, Arbitrum One and Robinhood Chain also registered growth in stablecoin market cap.
At the issuer level, United Stables led with $106 million in new stablecoin supply for the week. Paxos, Anchorage Digital, Aave Protocol, Ethena and World Liberty Financial followed. The XRP Ledger increased stablecoin issuance by about $23.4 million over the same span.
Decentralized exchange activity reflected higher demand for stablecoin liquidity. DeFiLlama recorded a one-day peak in stablecoin DEX volume of $40.37 billion on August 10. On that day Robinhood Chain posted $366 million in stablecoin DEX volume, with ETH-stablecoin pairs accounting for roughly $193.2 million, more than half of Robinhood’s total. Over 50 percent of Robinhood’s stablecoin trades that day were between major pairs including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Solana.
Nearly half of USDT circulation, 49.35 percent, is deployed on the TRON network, based on on-chain distribution figures cited with the supply data.
Despite the rise in stablecoin supply, stablecoins’ share of the broader crypto market fell from 14.79 percent in early July to 14.10 percent during the period. Tether’s share stood at about 8.445 percent. The overall crypto market capitalization increased from roughly $2.15 trillion to $2.19 trillion, adding more than $40 billion in August.
Market sentiment gauges used to track investor mood remained in the “fear” zone for the week but were less extreme than readings from the previous month.
The figures cited cover chain-level supply changes, issuer minting and decentralized trading volumes for the referenced week.
