Tether and CMCC Global’s Titan Fund invested in Saber Money, which plans to expand stablecoin payment services across Asia-Pacific and the Gulf. The amount was not disclosed.

Tether and CMCC Global’s Titan Fund have invested in Saber Money, a stablecoin payments company that plans to expand across Asia-Pacific and the Gulf. Saber announced the investment on Oct. 14 but did not disclose the amount or either investor’s ownership stake.

The funding will support applications for local licenses and partnerships with banks in the two regions. Saber also plans to strengthen its existing payment routes and expand services for businesses making international payments.

The planned services include paying suppliers and transferring money across borders. These transactions may require currency conversion, access to local banking systems and compliance checks after a stablecoin transfer.

According to the company, its payment volume increased more than sixfold over the past nine months. Saber also reported processing billions of dollars in payments across more than 40 countries, with more than 90% of transactions completed in less than one minute.

The announcement did not provide an exact payment-volume figure or explain how processing time is measured. It also did not identify the banks Saber plans to work with or specify the licenses it intends to seek.
