Strive buys 1,110 BTC; BTC per effective share up 1.19%
Strive acquired 1,110 BTC from Aug. 17–21, lifting holdings to 21,356 BTC while Bitcoin per effective common share rose 1.19% as effective shares increased 4.24%.
Strive, a bitcoin treasury company, purchased 1,110 BTC between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21, according to an Aug. 24 filing. Holdings rose to 21,356 BTC from 20,246 BTC on Aug. 14. The company paid an average of about $73,409 per bitcoin, including fees and expenses.
Effective common shares, defined by Strive as Class A plus Class B stock, increased from 86,037,123 to 89,683,423 over the same period, a 4.24% rise. Bitcoin per effective common share moved to approximately 0.000238127 BTC from 0.000235317 BTC a week earlier, a 1.19% increase.
On a fully diluted basis, which includes options and unvested employee awards but excludes 26,596,010 shares underlying traditional warrants under the company’s definition, bitcoin per share rose 1.34%.
Outstanding SATA shares, Strive’s variable-rate perpetual preferred equity, increased by 441,313 to 8,270,815 as of Aug. 21. SATA dividends accumulate on a $100 stated amount per share; applying a 13% annualized rate the company described as current on Aug. 10 implies about $5,737,069 in additional annualized preferred dividends. The filing notes the dividend rate is variable and the estimate is not a report of cash paid during the week.
Cash and cash equivalents rose by $17.1 million during the week to $171.9 million. The filing does not state whether the increase in effective common shares or the new SATA shares financed the bitcoin purchases, so the timing of the changes should not be treated as proof of a funding link.
Strive’s filing also states its Bitcoin Yield metric excludes preferred stockholders’ senior claims on dividends and assets. Prior public snapshots on July 29 and Aug. 5 showed bitcoin per effective common share had slipped; the Aug. 21 filing shows a 1.19% increase.
