Quantum’s 4,375 ETH sell cap hit by pledged 3,050 ETH

Quantum sold 1,000 ETH for $1.903m after raising its sell cap to 4,375 ETH, but 3,050 ETH are pledged, leaving 1,714.8 ETH unpledged and a 756.2 ETH shortfall.

Quantum Solutions raised the group’s aggregate Ether sell limit to 4,375 ETH on July 30 and its subsidiary GPT Pals Studio sold 1,000 ETH at $1,903 per coin, generating $1.903 million in net proceeds after fees.

Combined with a 904 ETH sale on June 16, the company has sold 1,904 ETH under the program. After the July 30 transaction, Quantum reported total holdings of 4,764.8 ETH.

Of that balance, 3,050 ETH remain pledged to a Singapore-based lender under an April borrowing that raised roughly $5.7 million on a one-year term with no ordinary loan interest. The April filing did not describe mechanics for collateral release, substitution, early repayment or liquidation.

Quantum disclosed 1,714.8 ETH as outside the pledged collateral. Under the expanded cap, the group retains authority to sell up to 2,471 ETH more through Oct. 30, 2026. That creates a 756.2 ETH gap between the remaining sell authority and the unpledged balance.

The company said the higher maximum sell limit does not indicate an immediate intention to liquidate the full amount. Any additional ETH sales will depend on Ether prices, broader market conditions, progress on its AI Infrastructure Data Center business and funding needs.

Quantum expects an accounting loss on the 1,000 ETH sale because the $1,903 per-ETH sale price was below the May 31 carrying value of $2,003.97 per ETH, resulting in an estimated loss of about JPY 17 million.

Separately, Quantum provided an unsecured, interest-free $1.5 million loan to Compass Cloud AI Japan. Part of that loan, together with company cash, funded a $1,202,864 deposit for the data-center project.

The company has not disclosed whether any pledged ETH can be released or substituted before the loan term ends. Future filings may provide details on loan mechanics or changes to pledged balances that would affect the amount of ETH available for sale.
