Over 2M DOGE on Dogechain as blocks keep producing

Dogechain produced blocks after its scheduled Aug. 8 12:00 UTC shutdown; the bridge showed 2,081,715.83 DOGE with no confirmed withdrawals after the cutoff.

Dogechain continued producing blocks after its scheduled 12:00 UTC shutdown on Aug. 8. The project’s RPC endpoint and the public explorer remained reachable for a short period after noon, while some user-facing services stopped functioning as expected.

The RPC returned block 62,578,500 immediately before 12:00 UTC and block 62,578,578 less than two minutes later; the latter carried a 12:01:52 UTC timestamp. The public explorer displayed the chain at block 62,578,630 with recent blocks attributed to multiple miner addresses, showing validators continued adding blocks for a time after the cutoff.

The project’s bridge interface remained visible after noon with deposit and withdrawal controls. Its dashboard listed 2,081,715.83 DOGE as “Current DOGE on Chain” and did not show any successful withdrawals after the shutdown time. The dashboard did not identify which balances were recoverable or controlled by administrators.

Bridge documentation describes an administrator-mediated recovery process that requires signatures and a service to execute transfers. The presence of a visible bridge form and continued block production did not demonstrate that those recovery components were operational.

QuickSwap had warned users to remove assets and liquidity positions before the announced shutdown. Its Dogechain-specific route redirected to the Polygon network (chain ID 137) before and after noon, and the Dogechain swap and liquidity interface was not available through that route.

Dogechain announced the planned shutdown in July and warned that assets left on the chain could become inaccessible or permanently lost if project-operated services halted. As of press time the explorer page had ceased loading.
