Over $1B Traded in Coinbase Stock Tokens; Small Pool Balances
About $1.02 billion of cumulative trading in Coinbase stock tokens contrasts with $12.97 million displayed across ten Aerodrome stock/USDC pools; a Sept. 23 premarket check priced $100,000 sells with 0.06%–0.71% gaps.
On Sept. 23 before U.S. equity hours, KyberSwap route estimates on Base priced hypothetical $100,000 sells and buys for ten Coinbase stock tokens. No trades were executed during the check. Aerodrome stock/USDC pools showed roughly $12.97 million in combined displayed balances. A community dashboard recorded about $1.02 billion in cumulative trading and $19.82 million in total tokenized value, and noted its data may be incomplete.
KyberSwap GET route summaries were captured between 08:02:01 and 08:02:42 UTC and Aerodrome pool balances were recorded at about 08:00 UTC. For $100,000 hypothetical sells, the router’s estimated proceeds fell 0.06%–0.71% below its own input valuations. At test sizes near $10,000 per token, sell-side quote gaps narrowed to roughly 0.01%–0.12%.
The router combined liquidity from Aerodrome and, in some cases, other sources reachable by the router. The estimates provide a snapshot price at one instant and do not confirm the capacity to absorb a simultaneous multi-token or multi-order selloff. The route summaries returned indicative outputs and no transactions were submitted; reported values were rounded and excluded gas costs.
Displayed Aerodrome balances include both token and USDC holdings and do not measure how far a large sell would move prices. Individual pools ranged from about $818,700 for MSFTc to $2.11 million for NVDAc. Other reported pool balances were roughly $1.50 million for AAPLc, $1.66 million for GOOGLc, $2.10 million for METAc, $1.03 million for AMZNc, $861,985 for TSLAc, $940,283 for MSTRc, $952,629 for SNDKc and $1.00 million for SPCXc.
Aerodrome’s gauge and emission mechanics affect displayed balances. Liquidity providers who stake positions for AERO emissions forfeit direct swap-fee rewards, which are redirected according to gauge votes that determine emission distribution. At launch, USDC incentives were supplied in two-week batches alongside additional boosts; those launch incentives are not verified as current returns for each pool.
Coinbase’s documentation describes the tokens as backed by underlying shares held in regulated custody. Primary minting and redemptions of those shares are restricted to authorized participants. Secondary token trading on Base is permissionless in eligible jurisdictions outside the United States. The Chainlink equity feed used for the tokens holds its last market value outside market hours while on-chain token trading can continue, so the reference price may reflect the prior equity session during after-hours trading.
The Sept. 23 premarket quotes showed $100,000 individual orders received indicative prices despite modest displayed pools. The route summaries and Aerodrome balance snapshot were taken without executing trades. The community dashboard cautioned its turnover figures do not represent a standing pool of buyers available to absorb a large sell order.
