OKX US to liquidate Grid and Smart Portfolio bot holdings

Selected USD order books retire Sept. 30; orders and bots left on those pairs will be canceled and Grid and Smart Portfolio positions sold.

OKX US will retire selected USD order books on Sept. 30, cancel remaining orders and automated trades on those pairs, and sell positions held in Grid and Smart Portfolio bots that remain on the affected USD markets.

The exchange opened the corresponding USDC trading pairs on Sept. 23 and said customers have until the scheduled retirement to cancel open USD-pair orders, stop affected bots and recreate them on the USDC pairs. OKX US plans to remove the old USD books between 3 and 4 a.m. Eastern time on Sept. 30 (7–8 a.m. UTC), with the relevant USD pairs delisted at 8 a.m. UTC. Any orders or bots left on the retiring USD books at the cutoff will be canceled, and bots using those pairs may close gradually during the transition hour.

OKX US described different treatment for positions behind automated strategies. Positions in Grid and Smart Portfolio bots that remain on the specified USD pairs will be liquidated. Positions tied to DCA, Recurring Buy and TWAP/Iceberg bots will be held after migration, even though those bots will close. The exchange warned that automatic sales may generate trading fees, slippage and realized gains or losses depending on each user’s holdings and execution.

The migration covers selected USD trading pairs, not all dollar markets on the platform. USDT-USD pairs are exempt. OKX US said customer account balances and deposit and withdrawal functions will not be affected. Users can continue to place orders using USD; those orders will be automatically converted to USDC to access the consolidated liquidity on the replacement pairs.

Orders and bots created on the USDC replacement pairs during the parallel availability window will remain active after the migration. The notice emphasized that customers who move orders or bots during the window retain control over when an order or bot stops and how any Grid or Smart Portfolio position is handled. Customers who wait until after the retirement will lose the existing USD-pair order or bot rather than having it moved automatically.

The announced sales apply only to positions managed by the affected bots, not to a broad sale of customer funds. OKX US published a migration schedule and urged users to review their open orders and automated strategies tied to the listed USD pairs before the Sept. 30 deadline.
