How to Mint and Redeem PYUSD with Paxos Orchestrations
Paxos published a 2026 developer guide on using its Orchestrations API to mint and redeem PYUSD, detailing endpoints, profiles, orchestration rules, memo matching and bank approval requirements.
Paxos published a 2026 developer guide that documents how to use its Orchestrations API to convert between U.S. dollars and PayPal USD (PYUSD) on Paxos Profiles. The guide describes Orchestrations as a single API surface for minting and redeeming PYUSD and provides sandbox and production hosts and OAuth endpoints: api.sandbox.paxos.com and api.paxos.com, with oauth.sandbox.paxos.com and oauth.paxos.com for tokens. Access tokens return an expires_in value of about 3,599 seconds.
For automated mints, operators create an Orchestration Rule that watches for USD wires and auto-mints PYUSD. A rule requires a unique ref_id, the profile_id to credit, source_asset set to USD with source.fiat.network specified as WIRE, and destination_asset set to PYUSD. The API response includes a deposit_instructions_id and a memo_id. Production wires must use the exact bank details and memo_id from the deposit instructions so the rule can match and trigger the conversion. If USD already sits on a Paxos Profile, an operator can run a one-time conversion by calling Create Orchestration with a unique ref_id, source_asset USD and destination_asset PYUSD.
Redeems require an approved fiat bank account. Operators must create and confirm a bank_account_id with status APPROVED before calling Create Orchestration with source_asset PYUSD and destination_asset USD. Paxos validates the Profile balance and bank status, converts PYUSD to USD, and wires funds to the provided bank account. Orchestration Rules can also auto-redeem external PYUSD sent to a deposit address, but external crypto destinations must be registered first with Put Crypto Destination Address.
Operators are advised to monitor orchestration status with webhooks or the List Orchestrations endpoint and to check COMPLETED, FAILED or REJECTED outcomes. The guide notes that sandbox deposits do not move mainnet value and that production wires will be rejected if memo values do not match the rule. Valid asset enums for orchestration rules include USD, PYUSD, USDC, USDG and USDP. Paxos publishes PYUSD mainnet contract addresses for Ethereum (0x6c3ea9036406852006290770BEdFcAbA0e23A0e8), Solana, Arbitrum, Polygon and X Layer.
Prerequisites include creating OAuth2 client credentials in the Paxos dashboard and requesting orchestration and funding scopes such as orchestration:read_orchestration, orchestration:write_orchestration_rule and funding:write_profile, plus relevant transfer scopes. The Orchestrations API replaces the older Stablecoin Conversions read-only surface for new mint and redeem integrations. The guide is aimed at fintechs, payment service providers and corporate treasury engineers that plan to hold PYUSD inventory on Paxos and that manage wire operations and institutional KYC and bank onboarding requirements.
