Mastercard launched its Global Money Platform with BVNK on Oct. 15, 2026. The service is available through BVNK and gives banks, fintechs and enterprises one API for managing fiat and stablecoin funds.
The platform supports storing, receiving, converting, sending, spending and earning money across more than 50 fiat currencies, stablecoins and cryptocurrencies. It operates on more than 20 blockchain networks and connects digital wallets with bank accounts through payment rails.
Businesses can hold fiat and stablecoin balances, accept stablecoin payments, convert between fiat currencies and digital assets, and send funds to bank accounts or blockchain wallets. Local-currency payouts use Mastercard Move, which BVNK describes as reaching more than 17 billion endpoints.
The card service is in beta. It offers virtual cards linked to USDC wallets and supports Apple Pay and Google Wallet in eligible jurisdictions. BVNK’s documentation does not list physical cards, and Mastercard and BVNK have not published a complete list of supported card markets.
The rewards service currently supports USDC balances. BVK’s documentation lists OUSD support as coming soon. Funds must remain in a rewards wallet for a full calendar day to qualify, and rewards are paid monthly in arrears. BVNK has not published a reward rate.
Customers can use the platform in three ways. Under the Direct model, a business contracts with BVNK for its own treasury or payout operations. Under the Embedded model, a company adds the service to its product while BVNK handles custody and onboards its customers. The Self-managed model allows licensed institutions to run the platform in their own environment and manage custody, compliance and users.
Mastercard identified Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Bolt Group and Almond FinTech as initial integrators. The platform is intended for payment companies, payroll providers, marketplaces, banks, neobanks and other businesses that collect, convert and distribute funds across currencies.
For example, a payroll provider could receive U.S. dollars, convert part of the balance into USDC, and pay contractors through local bank transfers or blockchain wallets. Contractors could also spend USDC through virtual cards. The platform combines account, conversion, card and payout functions that businesses may otherwise obtain from separate providers.
Raj Dhamodharan, Mastercard’s executive vice president for blockchain and digital assets, described the launch as “an important step in bringing our multi-money strategy to life.” BVNK co-founder Chris Harmse characterized the product as a connection between BVNK’s technology and Mastercard’s scale and infrastructure.
The launch followed Mastercard’s completion of its BVNK acquisition on Aug. 3, 2026. Mastercard announced the deal in March and agreed to pay as much as $1.8 billion, including up to $300 million in contingent payments. The Global Money Platform is the first major product launched through the combined business.
Mastercard and BVNK have not published platform pricing. BVNK’s documentation allows partners to add customer fees to transactions but does not list the underlying charges. Payout availability, currency coverage and card eligibility may vary by country and contract.
The launch materials name USDC and OUSD and list Stellar, Arc, Monad, Plasma and Tempo among the networks added at launch. Support for agentic commerce and tokenized deposits is planned for a later stage. Mastercard and BVNK have referenced more than 40 local payout currencies across more than 200 countries for 2027.
