Kraken to auto-sell seven delisted tokens in thin markets

Kraken will liquidate residual balances of seven delisted tokens between Aug. 3 and Aug. 7 after closing withdrawals on July 31, warning thin markets could leave clients with little or no proceeds.

Kraken will automatically liquidate residual spot balances of seven delisted tokens between Aug. 3 and Aug. 7. Withdrawals for the affected assets closed at 14:00 UTC on July 31, leaving any remaining balances on the exchange to be sold during the five-day window.

The tokens scheduled for liquidation are PLANCK, AIR, MICHI, FLY, ANLOG, TERM and STRD. The process applies only to leftover spot holdings and does not involve leveraged positions or margin liquidations. Trading and deposits for those tokens were disabled on May 1 under Kraken’s previously published delisting timeline.

The exchange has not disclosed the venue for the sales, how it will sequence assets or accounts, whether separate fees or spreads will apply, or which currency will be used to settle proceeds. The delisting notices do not specify minimum or dust thresholds for balances to be sold, nor do they identify particular jurisdictions that will be affected.

Kraken warned several of the assets have limited or inactive markets. Market snapshots around the delisting show very low trading volume and shallow displayed depth for some pools: in one sample, 24-hour volume was in the hundreds of dollars and displayed depth within tight price bands was only in the low tens of dollars, while other pools showed almost no recent volume. Those measures are time-sensitive and do not reflect possible liquidity at Kraken’s undisclosed execution venue or all global liquidity for the tokens.

With withdrawals closed, clients who still hold the delisted tokens on Kraken cannot move them off the exchange. Account holders will receive whatever cash or crypto the exchange obtains from executing the residual-balance sales, and the exact amount and currency returned to each client will be known only after the Aug. 3–7 disposals are complete.

Delisting schedules commonly follow a staged sequence: halting deposits and trading, later closing withdrawals, and finally liquidating remaining balances. Kraken’s timetable disabled trading and deposits on May 1, set the withdrawal cutoff on July 31, and scheduled the final liquidation window for early August.
