JPYC tops ¥2 billion; deeper USDC liquidity needed for DeFi
JPYC circulation exceeded ¥2 billion. CryptoQuant analyst XWIN estimates current USDC/JPYC pools limit trade size; multi‑million USDC pools would support larger swaps, lending and collateral.
JPYC circulation has surpassed ¥2 billion. The yen-backed stablecoin’s wider use in dollar-denominated decentralized finance depends on deeper USDC liquidity on Ethereum, according to CryptoQuant analyst XWIN.
XWIN estimates a $1 million JPYC/USDC liquidity pool can process about $93,000 in trades while keeping execution costs near 0.5%. A $5 million pool would raise transaction capacity to roughly $470,000 under the same cost conditions. The analyst calculates that adding $3–5 million in liquidity would make larger swaps, vault activity and limited lending practical, and that another $8–10 million could support collateralized positions and institutional trading.
The main USDC/JPYC pool currently holds about $275,000, which supports modest conversions but limits larger two-way trades without higher slippage. As a result, most on-chain JPYC activity remains focused on yen-based transfers rather than routing through dollar stablecoins.
Stablecoin capital is shifting across networks. CryptoQuant data shows Binance averages about $87 million in daily net inflows. TRON’s USDT reserves fell from roughly $1.4 billion to $709 million. On Ethereum, Tether inflows increased about 210% and USDC inflows rose about 114% over the same period.
XWIN identifies USDC on Ethereum as the likely dollar-side partner for JPYC liquidity. The analyst’s liquidity thresholds specify the pool sizes market makers and liquidity providers would need to reach to support larger JPYC/USDC swaps, lending positions and institutional trades.
Until pool depths grow into the multi‑million dollar range, XWIN says JPYC’s larger supply may not translate into expanded dollar-denominated DeFi activity. If liquidity pools expand toward the levels cited, JPYC holders could gain access to larger swaps, vaults and collateralized options on Ethereum.
