Hayes Denies $2.09M HYPE Withdrawal Flagged on-Chain
Arkham flagged a wallet linked to Arthur Hayes withdrawing 33,978 HYPE (~$2.09M) from Bybit on June 8 at an implied $61.50 per token; Hayes denied buying, tweeting ‘I didn’t buy shit.’
On June 8, Arkham Intelligence flagged a wallet attributed to Arthur Hayes that withdrew 33,978 Hyperliquid (HYPE) tokens from Bybit. The transfer implied an average price near $61.50 per token and a total value of about $2.09 million. Hayes responded on Twitter, posting ‘I didn’t buy shit.’
Four days earlier Hayes had announced he exited his entire HYPE position at prices above $72. After that announcement HYPE fell roughly 23% and traded below $56 in the subsequent days. Hayes has described past exits from HYPE and NEAR as macro hedges while waiting for a lower re-entry price.
Arkham assigns identities to addresses using on-chain transaction patterns, exchange deposit records and machine-learning models, and reports a target accuracy rate of 95% or higher for major figures. Labeling errors can occur, and Arkham’s influencer wallet tracking has been revised in prior cases.
No on-chain signature or independent exchange confirmation has been presented that ties the flagged address conclusively to Hayes. Without such verification the flagged transfer remains unconfirmed as his activity.
At the time of reporting HYPE traded near $61.43, up about 4.6% over 24 hours, with a market capitalization around $13.65 billion and a top-10 ranking by market cap. Hayes has previously stated a $150 HYPE price target for 2026. Whether the flagged transfer represents a re-entry into HYPE is not verified.
