Guide: Sending zerohash Stablecoin Payouts in 2026
zerohash converts funded USD float into USDC, USDT, PYUSD or RLUSD and broadcasts onchain transfers in minutes. On Aug. 5, 2026 Visa enabled eligible Visa Direct clients to prefund and disburse these payouts.
zerohash’s Payouts product converts funded USD float into stablecoins and broadcasts onchain transfers in minutes. On Aug. 5, 2026 Visa announced that eligible Visa Direct clients can prefund and disburse stablecoin payouts powered by zerohash.
Platforms can integrate via two product shapes. The Modular Payouts SDK gives platforms control of the user experience with SDK modals for account linking and payout confirmation. The Single API Call flow uses POST /payouts so zerohash handles intermediary steps after a one-time Payor onboarding. Both options require a contracted zerohash Platform account, API keys, whitelisted IPs, and a funded USD float before live payouts. Visa Direct enrollment and zerohash product enablement are separate requirements.
The Modular flow requires four steps: register and approve the Payor, register the Beneficiary, link the beneficiary’s external wallet through the Account Link SDK, and open the Payouts SDK to request conversion and onchain transfer. Operators must consume payment_status_changed webhooks that move payments from submitted to posted (onchain transaction ID present) and then to settled. zerohash requires platforms to send email receipts to Payors for each payout.
The Single API Call path requires Payor registration and an initial validate:true preflight call to catch schema, business-logic and address checks. Live submissions omit validate and must include an Idempotency-Key header so retries do not create duplicate payments. zerohash’s documentation recommends validating one test call in the sandbox before funding production float. Reconciliation uses GET /payments for Modular flows or GET /payouts for Single API Call flows with payout_id or idempotency_key.
Supported stablecoins listed in zerohash documentation include USD Coin (USDC) across 15 blockchains, Tether (USDT) across four networks, PayPal USD (PYUSD) on Solana and Ethereum, and Ripple USD (RLUSD) on Solana and XRPL. The product also supports other crypto assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana. Platforms must confirm which assets and networks are enabled on their zerohash account before offering options to beneficiaries.
Operational requirements include funding and maintaining a USD float to cover net delivery obligations. Certification environments are pre-funded for testing; production platforms must top up float after each settlement session to the agreed level. zerohash documentation lists net delivery obligation wire due dates by settlement session weekday, with U.S. bank holidays moving deadlines to the next business day. Network fees are tracked separately on a network_fee account label and will accrue to the monthly invoice if that account is not funded.
Payouts are tracked via webhooks. Operators should monitor payout.status_updated or payment_status_changed events and surface the on_chain_transaction_id in transaction histories once payments are posted or settled. Email receipts must include fields such as payment_id, transmission amount, amount received by the beneficiary, fees including network fees when the Payor bears them, date/time, the Payor’s participant_code, the platform’s support contact, and zerohash’s regulatory block.
Visa’s Aug. 5 announcement notes that Visa Direct can reach more than 18 billion endpoints across over 195 countries and territories. Platforms must confirm Visa Direct eligibility and their zerohash onboarding separately before promising stablecoin payout availability to users.
A worked example in zerohash’s SDK documentation describes converting $200 of USD float to USDC on Ethereum for a contractor: after Payor and Beneficiary approvals, the beneficiary links an ETH wallet, the platform requests a payout JWT, the beneficiary accepts fees shown in the Payouts SDK, webhooks are monitored until settlement, and the platform displays the onchain hash. The example includes illustrative fee figures from sample payloads and is not a price quote.
Platforms that plan to offer zerohash stablecoin payouts must complete KYB/KYC onboarding for Payors, satisfy jurisdictional compliance, fund and reconcile USD float, integrate webhooks and required email receipts, and confirm asset and network support and Visa Direct enrollment before enabling a wallet payout option in production.
