Eurøpe Consortium launches to widen distribution of EURØP

On Oct. 5, 2026 in Paris, ten European digital‑finance firms and Nasdaq‑listed eToro announced the formation of the Eurøpe Consortium to broaden distribution and integration of EURØP, a euro stablecoin issued by Schuman Financial. The group said it will coordinate access, infrastructure, applications and market development for the MiCA‑regulated token. The consortium site is live at europeconsortium.io and founding members published launch statements the same day.

Founding members are Schuman Financial, Assetera, BLOX, Coinhouse, Coinmerce, DFNS, eToro, LCX, RockawayX, SwissBorg and XRPL Commons. The organisations will invite additional financial institutions, trading platforms, fintech firms and infrastructure providers to join.

Members mapped roles across the ecosystem. Schuman Financial is the issuer of EURØP. Trading and distribution partners listed include eToro, SwissBorg, Coinhouse, Coinmerce, LCX and BLOX. DFNS will provide wallet and custody infrastructure. Assetera will focus on tokenised markets, XRPL Commons will represent blockchain ecosystem interests, and RockawayX is identified as an investor in Schuman Financial. Each organisation will retain responsibility for its own commercial, technical and regulatory decisions.

EURØP is a euro‑denominated e‑money token issued under the EU’s Markets in Crypto‑Assets regulation by Schuman Financial, an electronic money institution authorised by France’s ACPR. Schuman states that EURØP reserves are held at Société Générale and other named credit institutions and that quarterly reserve attestations are provided by KPMG. Schuman first issued EURØP in late 2024. The token is live on six networks: Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, Solana, the XRP Ledger and Plasma.

DFNS and consortium materials say EURØP is available on exchanges including Kraken, Bitvavo, Bit2Me, SwissBorg and Bitpanda. DFNS reported €116.8 million in EURØP transfers over the 30 days prior to Oct. 5, 2026 and noted trading activity in liquidity pools on Curve, Orca and Pharaoh.

The consortium said members will coordinate four areas: making regulated euro stablecoins available on platforms customers already use; building connections between wallets, trading platforms, tokenised‑asset infrastructure and blockchain networks; developing retail, institutional, payment and tokenised‑market use cases; and running education and engagement with prospective participants. The consortium website states that participation does not itself imply a listing, integration or liquidity commitment and that any listings or integration will be announced by individual members.

In the consortium statement, Ouriel Ohayon, eToro’s Head of Crypto, commented: “By joining the Eurøpe Consortium eToro is helping build the liquidity, distribution and utility needed to make the euro a first‑class currency on‑chain.” Viktor Fischer, founder of RockawayX, noted the on‑chain dollar currently outscales the euro by more than 300 to 1.

Organisers described the group as a coordinated distribution effort around an already issued euro stablecoin rather than a new token launch or a bank‑led issuance project. Schuman said eligible organisations can discuss direct EURØP issuance and redemption, onboarding and API integration with the issuer.
