ETF inflows drop to $31M as Bitcoin stalls near $84K

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs drew $31 million on Sept. 28, the weakest day of an eight-session inflow streak as Bitcoin traded near $84,000 with concentrated long-term-holder supply at $84K–$85K.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $31.07 million in inflows on Sept. 28, the smallest daily intake in an eight-session positive streak as Bitcoin traded around $84,000 and returned toward a dense cluster of long-term-holder coins between $84,000 and $85,000.

SoSoValue data show the $31.07 million extended the positive run for U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs to eight sessions but marked the weakest day since the streak began. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led the session with $54.84 million of inflows, equal to roughly 657 BTC, which pushed IBIT’s holdings back above 800,000 BTC for the first time since May 26. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust added about $10.32 million. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund recorded $10.90 million in outflows and Grayscale’s GBTC declined by $23.19 million. The remaining U.S. spot products registered no net flows on the day.

Daily inflows have fallen sharply from a high earlier in the week. Net daily flows approached $1 billion on Sept. 21 and have declined since; Monday’s intake was about 97% below that peak. Despite the slowdown in daily demand, the funds attracted roughly $2.4 billion last week, the largest weekly inflow of 2026 and the biggest weekly total since October 2025. Month-to-date flows are near $2.73 billion, and 2026 net inflows moved into positive territory at about $1.01 billion after funds had been approximately $5.8 billion in net outflows as of July.

Bitcoin traded near $84,000 after retreating from a move above $87,000 late last week. Glassnode cost-basis distribution data indicate a higher concentration of long-term-holder coins between $84,000 and $85,000 than at any other price level on the distribution.

Glassnode data also show ETF inflows helped absorb selling during September’s advance and coincided with an approximate 4% price gain last week while futures traders and profit-takers were active. At roughly $84,000 per coin, Monday’s $31 million net inflow equated to fewer than 400 BTC in value; by comparison, the nearly $1 billion that entered funds at the start of last week would have been worth more than 11,000 BTC at similar prices. ETF flows do not convert directly into equal same-day spot purchases.

IBIT’s increase returned its total holdings above 800,000 BTC. Changes across Grayscale and Fidelity products reflected different investor flows among issuers. Market participants will watch whether ETF buying strengthens and adds demand as Bitcoin tests the $84,000–$85,000 band or whether inflows remain smaller in the coming sessions. Glassnode’s analysis notes Bitcoin needs to clear and hold above that zone for the recovery to continue.
