Ctrl/shift Summit 2026 to address quantum-era blockchain security
Ctrl/shift Summit in Naples June 13–15 will focus on quantum risks to blockchain and custody. Speakers include Quantum Qustody CEO Sohil Tiwari and Bitcoin Suisse expert Wolfgang Vitale.
Ctrl/shift Summit 2026 will examine security risks from advancing quantum computing for blockchain networks and digital-asset infrastructure. The event runs June 13–15 at Villa Doria d’Angri in Naples and brings researchers, builders, institutions and policy experts together for dedicated sessions on post-quantum cryptography and custody systems.
Sohil Tiwari, CEO and co-founder of Quantum Qustody, will lead a session titled Security in a Post-Quantum World. Tiwari spent nearly two decades in finance and risk roles at Mastercard and American Express before founding Quantum Qustody, and his session will cover what digital-asset holders, custodians and financial firms should consider as quantum-capable machines develop.
Wolfgang Amadeus Vitale, crypto protocol expert at Bitcoin Suisse, will present The Road to Post-Quantum Bitcoin, which will assess the current Bitcoin protocol and options to increase resistance to future quantum attacks. Fabrizio Romano Genovese, who holds a PhD in Quantum Information Theory from the University of Oxford, will give a technical talk titled “(Almost?) Practical Public-Key Quantum Money With Low Quantum Resources,” examining the hardware and protocol requirements for quantum money and remaining technical barriers.
Organizers say the timing follows technical and policy developments. The European Commission’s roadmap calls for EU member states to begin transitioning to post-quantum cryptography by the end of 2026. In March, Google Quantum AI published updated estimates suggesting attacks on widely used elliptic-curve cryptography could require fewer quantum resources than previously projected.
Andrea Paesano, event lead at ctrl/shift, described the topic as “Quantum security is a good example of why ctrl/shift was created.” He added that the summit aims to bring researchers, builders and decision-makers into the same discussions to make planning and testing more practical.
Beyond quantum security, the ctrl/shift program includes sessions on institutional access to digital assets, tokenization, ETF and ETP markets, AI-driven financial systems, self-custody and regulation. Panels announced so far include an ETF and institutional-access session featuring Luisa Fischietti, Fabio Massellani and Marcello Coppo, and a tokenization session with speakers from 21Shares, Diaman Partners and the Italian Parliamentary Intergroup on Digital Assets, Blockchain and Bitcoin.
Ctrl/shift Summit 2026 is powered by NapulETH. The full agenda, ticket details and event updates are available on the summit’s official website.
