Crypto Firms, FIFA Blockchain Tap Into World Cup 2026
Crypto firms signed regional Argentina deals, ran fan promotions and giveaways, and FIFA launched an Avalanche-based Layer‑1 and named ADI Predictstreet its official prediction-market partner.
Crypto companies entered the 2026 World Cup ecosystem through national-team sponsorships, fan promotions and a federation-built blockchain. FIFA named ADI Predictstreet its Official Prediction Market Partner and launched a custom Layer‑1 built on Avalanche for digital collectibles and fan engagement.
Several national federations signed crypto-linked agreements ahead of the tournament. In September 2025 LBank agreed a multi-year regional sponsorship of Argentina and launched a $100 million prize pool linked to the partnership. In March 2026 Ant International became an Official Sponsor of Argentina for the Asia region; Ant’s press release described the agreement as “unites the reigning FIFA World Cup Champions with one of the world’s most innovative financial technology providers” and listed marketing rights across the company’s payment and fintech brands. In April 2026 Nexo was named Official Regional Digital Asset Partner for Argentina. BTCC, ATFX and Deepcoin also obtained regional partner status. Socios.com remains the exclusive issuer of the AFA-backed $ARG fan token and several national-team tokens have been created for other qualified teams.
FIFA selected ADI Predictstreet as the Official Prediction Market Partner for the 2026 World Cup. ADI Predictstreet runs on ADI Chain’s institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure. Other prediction platforms, including Polymarket and Kalshi, continue to host World Cup markets and winner contracts without official FIFA rights.
Exchanges and crypto platforms rolled out World Cup promotions tied to sponsorships. Nexo announced global giveaways offering fans chances to win match tickets and signed jerseys for new and existing users. Deepcoin’s “Champion Glory” campaign features signed memorabilia, limited-edition merchandise, match attendance opportunities and offline fan viewing events. Crypto.com used a Visa Card promotion to offer select users in Europe and Australia a chance to win Category 1 match tickets, five nights of accommodation and matchday transport. The TRUMP Coin ecosystem introduced a members-only leaderboard prize of a three-day VIP suite experience for the World Cup final in New Jersey for top leaderboard holders.
FIFA’s blockchain work began in May 2025 when the federation announced a custom Layer‑1 built on Avalanche for digital collectibles and global fan engagement. FIFA Collect, the organization’s digital collectibles platform, was migrated to the new chain. FIFA President Gianni Infantino mentioned the idea of a “FIFA Coin” or “FIFA Token” at a White House crypto summit in March 2025 and again at the World Liberty Forum in February 2026.
No cryptocurrency firm is listed among FIFA’s seven global partners or eight official 2026 sponsors. The sector’s presence at the tournament appears through national federations’ regional deals, fan token issuance, prize pools, ticket giveaways, prediction-market partnerships and FIFA’s own blockchain infrastructure.
