Bridge Open Issuance: Launch Branded Stablecoins in 2026
Bridge’s Open Issuance lets firms launch a fully backed branded xUSD while Bridge manages reserves, compliance and mint/burn; issuers set chain, ticker, logo, loop model and reserves mix.
As of September 13, 2026, Bridge’s Open Issuance allows companies to launch a fully backed branded stablecoin, a custom xUSD, while Bridge operates reserves, compliance and the mint/burn infrastructure.
The program requires a commercial engagement and integration with Bridge’s Orchestration money-movement platform rather than a self-serve dashboard option. Before launch issuers select blockchains to support, the token name and ticker, a 32×32 icon, whether the coin will be transferable on public rails (open loop) or restricted to approved flows (closed loop), and the initial reserves mix between cash and short-duration treasuries.
Bridge issues the token under the issuer’s brand and runs the operational rails: custody and allocation of reserves, compliance checks, and minting and burning. Minting occurs when Bridge detects an Orchestration deposit; the platform allocates reserves and mints xUSD to the designated wallet at a 1:1 rate. Redemptions burn xUSD and release fiat or crypto through the same rails. Orchestration covers virtual accounts and liquidation addresses that settle in fiat or on-chain stablecoins. Issuers that already use Bridge Virtual Accounts for other stablecoins can reuse that setup for faster onboarding.
Issuers set the reserve composition and Bridge enforces it. Reserve options include on-demand cash for immediate redemptions and short-duration treasuries that typically require about one business day to free. Bridge works with institutional custodians and asset managers for treasury holdings. The platform suggests a starting cash sleeve near 20% to avoid redemption delays while treasuries are unwound. Reserve allocations are set via an API at POST https://api.bridge.xyz/v0/issuance/reserves/liquidity_allocation with Api-Key and Idempotency-Key headers; the same endpoint supports GET to read current allocations.
Rewards derive from treasury returns. Bridge shares the majority of treasury rewards with the issuer after fees. Cash reserves typically earn little or nothing, and on-chain stablecoins used as reserves are recorded as earning 0%. Reward payouts arrive by the fifth business day of the month following the earning period and can be delivered in tokens or fiat. Bridge provides illustrative examples showing how allocation choices affect effective yield in a $100 million assets-under-management case.
Open Issuance supports multi-chain deployments under a single ticker with shared reserves and separate smart-contract instances. Listed chains include Tempo, Base, Solana, Ethereum, Aptos, Sui, Polygon, Stellar, Arbitrum, Optimism, Linea, Monad and HyperEVM, with additional networks available on request. Using a supported chain can shorten setup time; adding a new chain to Bridge’s stack can extend the timeline.
Bridge remains the issuer and retains mint and burn authority. Commercial and compliance engagement is required via sales@bridge.xyz, and issuers must lock loop semantics and reserve policy before public marketing because changes after launch involve product and compliance work. Bridge recommends parallel testing of Orchestration transfers and a sandbox liquidity allocation call to validate minting, redemption and reward flows before public rollout.
