BlackRock-led inflows return to US spot Bitcoin ETFs ahead of Fed
US spot Bitcoin ETFs drew $159.9 million on Sept. 14, ending four sessions of net outflows. BlackRock’s IBIT added $134.3 million and Fidelity’s FBTC added $53.3 million.
US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $159.9 million on Sept. 14, ending four consecutive sessions of net outflows. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) added $134.3 million and Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) added $53.3 million, according to Farside Investors data.
The one-day inflow partially offset a selling streak that removed $462.7 million from these products over the prior four sessions. The Sept. 14 receipts erased about 35% of those losses, leaving roughly $302.8 million of net outflows across the five sessions through Sept. 14, per Farside data.
The $187.6 million combined inflow into IBIT and FBTC exceeded the market’s overall net gain because other funds saw net redemptions on the day. ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) recorded $42 million of outflows on Sept. 14. Franklin Templeton’s EZBC added $4.6 million and Morgan Stanley’s MSBT took in $9.7 million. Most other funds reported little or no net movement.
Blockchain data from Arkham Intelligence show IBIT added about $1.08 billion of Bitcoin over the previous 20 days, with positive inflows on seven of those sessions. Over the same period, Grayscale’s GBTC reduced its Bitcoin holdings by about $254.7 million. Arkham’s figures track coins held by the funds and do not represent a proprietary position by any manager.
New creations for IBIT require the trust to add Bitcoin to its holdings as investors buy exposure through the ETF, which explains why increased investor demand appears as higher Bitcoin balances in the fund.
Market attention centered on the Federal Reserve’s Sept. 15–16 policy meeting. The four-session withdrawal streak preceded the meeting. Subsequent ETF flow reports will provide data on demand after the Fed releases its policy statement and economic outlook.
