BlackRock Drives $32.1M Inflow Into U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted a $32.1 million net inflow on July 29; BlackRock’s IBIT contributed $89.8 million while Fidelity’s FBTC and ARK’s ARKB lost $43.1 million and $14.6 million.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a $32.1 million net inflow on July 29, ending four consecutive sessions of net outflows. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) attracted $89.8 million, while Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) saw $43.1 million redeemed and ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) had $14.6 million leave.

IBIT’s $89.8 million intake offset the combined $57.7 million of outflows from FBTC and ARKB, producing the $32.1 million net result for the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF complex. All other listed funds reported zero net flow for the session.

A zero net-flow entry indicates creations and redemptions netted to zero for the day; it does not mean ETF shares did not trade on secondary markets. Under Securities and Exchange Commission rules, only authorized participants transact directly with a fund to create or redeem large blocks of shares, while individual and institutional investors typically buy and sell ETF shares on exchanges.

The four-session outflow run began on July 23 with $225 million of net redemptions, continued with $240 million on July 24, $11 million on July 27 and $49 million on July 28. Those four sessions totaled $526 million in net outflows. Including July 29’s inflow, the five-session span remains about $494 million in net outflows.

IBIT accounted for the bulk of the July 29 inflow while other funds were flat or negative, so the single-day positive result was concentrated in BlackRock’s fund.
