Bitcoin ETF Flows Fall $148.7M, $5B Short of Peak

US spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $148.7 million of outflows on Sept. 30, ending a nine-day inflow streak and leaving cumulative inflows near $57.7 billion.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $148.7 million of net outflows on Sept. 30, ending a nine-day streak that had brought roughly $3.08 billion into the funds, according to Farside Investors.

Fidelity’s FBTC accounted for $125.6 million of the withdrawals. Bitwise’s BITB saw $13.6 million leave and BlackRock’s IBIT reported $9.5 million in outflows. The other nine listed US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded no net flows on the day.

September remained a positive month overall, with the funds taking in about $2.65 billion. That was the second-strongest month so far in 2026 after August’s $3.52 billion, and pushed year-to-date net inflows to roughly $930 million following a midyear drawdown.

Lifetime cumulative inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs had reached about $62.8 billion on Oct. 10, 2025. Redemptions since then reduced that total; by July 13 the drawdown from the high was about $12 billion, leaving cumulative flows near $50.9 billion. Net buying since mid-July recovered inflows to roughly $57.7 billion by late September, about $5 billion below the October 2025 peak.

Eric Balchunas, an ETF analyst, noted that flows had returned to levels similar to earlier strength despite higher yields and lingering negative sentiment, and that the recovery had coincided with rising prices.

The Sept. 30 withdrawal was concentrated in Fidelity’s fund while most of the complex showed no movement. Upcoming sessions will indicate whether flows broaden across major issuers or remain concentrated in a few funds.

Bitcoin traded around $83,800 early on Oct. 1. ETF flow data remain a direct measure of institutional demand at current price levels.
