Avalanche Treasury OKs $10M Buyback After $44.7M Q2 Loss

Avalanche Treasury approved a $10 million Class A repurchase after a $44.7 million Q2 net loss, about $35.7 million of which reflected AVAX fair-value changes, realized losses and impairments.

Avalanche Treasury Corp approved a $10 million Class A share repurchase program after reporting a $44.7 million net loss for the second quarter. Management presented the authorization as a way to create shareholder value and cited a disconnect between the company’s stock price and strategy.

The company’s Aug. 26 results release disclosed the board approval and did not report any completed buybacks. The release described the authorization as an expression of management intent rather than an immediate cash outlay.

Company filings show roughly $35.7 million of the quarter’s loss stemmed from AVAX-linked items, including accounting fair-value adjustments, realized digital-asset losses and impairment charges. The filing notes those components can change reported earnings without matching cash flows during the period.

At June 30, Avalanche Treasury reported holding 15,312,363 AVAX with a stated fair value of $99,989,818. Changes in token market price or treasury activity would alter the reported value of that position and the magnitude of future fair-value adjustments or realized gains and losses.

Operationally, staking generated $1.5 million of revenue in the quarter, net of fees, and $3.6 million in the first half of 2026. The company also recorded about $15.2 million of one-time costs tied to completing its business combination, which contributed to the quarterly loss alongside AVAX-linked accounting items.

The company’s filing referenced Nasdaq procedures related to market-value compliance. Under Nasdaq Rule 5550(b)(2), a company may meet listing standards through an alternative threshold of at least $2.5 million of equity. An Aug. 7 notice gave Avalanche Treasury an initial compliance period that runs through Feb. 2, 2027. The Aug. 26 filing addressed the market-value matter but provided no update on a separate outstanding bid-price deficiency.

The company did not disclose any completed repurchases. Any future treasury activity, changes in AVAX market value or further realized gains or losses on treasury holdings will affect future reported results.
