AMF: Pump.fun unregistered, not authorized in Québec

Québec’s AMF warned on Sept. 25, 2026 that Pump.fun is not registered and not authorized to solicit investors in Québec. The Canadian Securities Administrators posted the AMF notice.

On Sept. 25, 2026, Québec’s Autorité des marchés financiers published a notice saying Pump.fun is not registered with the AMF and is not authorized to solicit investors in the province. The Canadian Securities Administrators added the AMF notice to its list of investor alerts.

The AMF categorized the notice as a cryptoasset and high-risk platform warning. Pump.fun operates a marketplace that lists tokens created by users, and the regulator noted the platform’s services involve user-generated digital assets.

The published finding is limited to registration and solicitation. The AMF did not impose a website ban, issue an enforcement order, make a fraud finding, or order any change to users’ wallet access in the notice.

The CSA entry repeats the AMF’s finding and names the Québec regulator as the source. The CSA listing does not indicate a separate action by the CSA against Pump.fun.

The AMF advised residents to use caution and check its public registers to confirm whether a firm or person is authorized to operate in Québec before responding to solicitations.

Pump.fun’s terms of use state that user-generated digital assets can change significantly in value. The AMF’s notice treated the platform’s lack of registration as a regulatory issue distinct from token price volatility.

Québec residents who receive solicitations from Pump.fun or who use the platform are advised to verify the service’s authorization status on the AMF registers before engaging with the platform.
