Allium Restores Data for 18 Chains After Security Incident

Allium restored delivery for 18 blockchain networks on Snowflake and Databricks after unauthorized access, while BigQuery backfills and other recovery work continue.

Blockchain data provider Allium has restored data delivery after unauthorized access to some of its systems, while historical backfills and account recovery measures remain in progress.

An Oct. 28 update stated that delivery was operating normally for all chains on Snowflake, Databricks and BigQuery. Records from the affected period still need to be restored for some networks, and BigQuery backfills are being handled separately from checks completed on Snowflake and Databricks.

Allium reported that raw and enriched tables for 18 named networks passed its existing checks for completeness and freshness on Snowflake and Databricks. The networks include Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, Base, Arbitrum and Arc. Further validation is continuing, while Hyperliquid remains under review.

Backfills for the affected period are continuing for other networks and for all networks on BigQuery. Users reviewing records that cover the disruption are instructed to check the cloud warehouse, blockchain network and relevant dates before using the data.

Allium disclosed the incident on Oct. 28 after identifying unauthorized access on Oct. 25. The company restricted access, contacted affected customers and hired an independent cybersecurity firm to investigate.

The incident record marked Allium’s core Explorer and API services as restored at 10:59 a.m. EDT on Oct. 28. The company attributed delays in tables’ verified_until timestamps to the restoration of automated re-verification and said the delays do not indicate missing data.

Allium is revoking existing API keys and directing users to create replacements unless an Allium contact provides one. Users must also set a new password, and the company recommends enabling multifactor authentication.

The company has temporarily disabled new uploads and access to previously uploaded data. Queries that depend on uploaded tables remain unavailable while live delivery has resumed across Snowflake, Databricks and BigQuery.
