AI agents make millions of micropayments on XRPL; few XRP settled

A t54 labs AI-payment hub on the XRP Ledger logged 4,491,820 transactions while settling 5,836.71 XRP and 4,125.29 RLUSD.

A payment hub run by t54 labs on the XRP Ledger recorded 4,491,820 transactions alongside cumulative settlements of 5,836.71 XRP and 4,125.29 RLUSD. The figures cover activity tracked by the hub and do not represent all payments on the ledger.

The hub tracks settlements in both native XRP and RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar stablecoin. Its dashboard lists 152 registered merchants and a seven-day average of about 199,059 payments per day. Many entries in the hub’s transaction list are fractional transfers of XRP and RLUSD.

Ripple released an XRPL AI Starter Kit on June 9 that enables software agents to make recurring micro-payments, described as x402 payments, to buy API calls, AI inference and other digital services. Agents can pay with either XRP or RLUSD; the hub’s ledger entries show both assets used for payments.

On-chain transaction fees on the XRPL are paid in XRP. The network’s standard minimum fee is 10 drops, and fees increase when network load rises. Fees are removed from circulation when paid.

Market data around the same snapshot showed XRP trading near $1.43, with a market capitalization of about $89.8 billion and roughly $2.4 billion in reported 24-hour trading volume. The hub’s payment counts and market price data measure different activity and are recorded separately.

Relevant on-chain metrics to follow include cumulative XRP settlement amounts and the share of payments made in XRP versus RLUSD. Tracking those figures will provide detail on how much native token flows through agent-driven payments over time.
