Ondo founder Nathan Allman dies at 32; De Bode named CEO

Ondo Finance founder Nathan Allman died at 32, the company announced on X. President Ian De Bode will take over as CEO. The firm did not disclose the cause of death.

Ondo Finance posted on X that founder Nathan Allman died unexpectedly at age 32. The company did not disclose the cause of death and named its president, Ian De Bode, as chief executive.

Ian De Bode joined Ondo as chief strategy officer in March 2024 after leading digital assets work at McKinsey and was promoted to president in November 2025. Ondo said De Bode has overseen the firm’s strategy, product and day-to-day operations for more than two years and will assume the CEO role immediately.

Allman founded Ondo in 2021 after a stint on the digital assets team at Goldman Sachs. Under his leadership, the firm tokenized roughly $3.86 billion in real-world assets on-chain, including treasuries, equities and commodities, and recorded more than 111,000 holders across its tokenized offerings.

In its post, Ondo paid tribute to Allman’s influence on the company and the industry. The firm wrote, “Nate’s brilliance, humility, and drive shaped every part of what Ondo is today. His belief in the power of technology to create a more open, accessible financial system lives on in everything we build. The impact he had on this industry, and on all of us personally, cannot be overstated.”

Ondo added that it will continue the work Allman began. “We will continue building what Nate started. That is the most meaningful way we know to honor him,” the firm wrote.

The company described Allman’s death as a profound loss for the tokenization sector and the community around the firm. Ondo did not provide further details about the circumstances of his passing.
