Meta launches USDC payouts for creators in Colombia, Philippines

Select creators in Colombia and the Philippines can receive earnings in USDC, sent on-chain via Solana and Polygon to compatible crypto wallets.
Meta Platforms has begun offering select creators in Colombia and the Philippines the option to receive earnings in USDC, according to an update to the company’s Business Help Centre. Payouts are sent on-chain over the Solana and Polygon networks to compatible crypto wallets.
Creators must set up a crypto wallet that supports USDC on either Solana or Polygon and link that wallet to their Meta payout account. Once the wallet is connected, Meta sends earned funds directly in USDC to the provided wallet address.
Recipients can convert the stablecoin into local currency using cryptocurrency exchanges or payment services that support USDC withdrawals. Meta’s documentation states that creators are responsible for converting USDC after they receive it.
Payouts are settled on blockchain rails rather than through traditional banking systems. Wallets used for payments must specifically support USDC tokens on the network chosen by the creator, because the tokens issued on Solana and Polygon are distinct.
The option is available only to creators in Colombia and the Philippines at launch. Meta introduced the feature through documentation updates rather than a public marketing announcement, and the company has not provided a public timetable for adding more countries or creator groups.
Meta’s rollout focuses on creator payouts, a category that commonly involves many small cross-border transactions. Stablecoins such as USDC can be used to reduce fees and shorten settlement times for payments that move across national borders and currencies.
Meta processes the payments on Solana and Polygon. Both networks are commonly used for payments because they generally offer lower transaction fees and faster confirmation times than some other blockchains.
Meta’s published materials do not include specifics on fee structures for on-chain payouts or on protections and recourse procedures for creators who encounter transfer problems.
